Barbara A. Bell
Since August 2005, Barbara has served as the Costume Shop Supervisor. At Williams College, she designed Our Time, The Tempest, Cabaret, Eurydice, Trojan Women and Big Love. Barbara has designed costumes professionally for over 30 years and those designs include: Crumbs From the Table of Joy (Juilliard School of Drama); A Thousand Pines (Westport Country Playhouse); Saintliness of Margery Kempe (Duke on 42nd Street Theatre); A Child’s Christmas in Wales, It’s a Wonderful Life (Irish Repertory Theatre); Morning’s at Seven, The Show-Off (Peccadillo Theatre); world premieres of Theresa Rebeck’s Way of the World and Lia Romeo’s STILL, Outside Mullingar, Mousetrap, Clybourne Park, Dial M For Murder (Dorset Theatre Festival); Widowers’ Houses, Heartbreak House (Gingold Theatrical); Doctor’s Dilemma (Peterborough Players); The Trip to Bountiful, The Seafarer, Boston Marriage, Driving Miss Daisy (Capital Repertory); Clybourne Park (Barrington Stage); To Kill A Mockingbird, Raisin in the Sun, Big River (Weston Playhouse); for Pearl Theatre Company, over 40 shows which include A Taste of Honey, Uncle Vanya, Figaro, Vieux Carre, The Bald Soprano. She is a recipient of a Princess Grace Grant for her Pearl Theatre designs.
She has also done work for Alvin Ailey American Dance Company, George Street Playhouse, Syracuse Stage, and Alley Theatre. She has also been visiting faculty/guest artist at Washington and Lee University, Hunter College, Brown University, West Virginia University, and SUNY New Paltz.
